Life can feel overwhelming at times. The coping strategies that worked in the past might not feel effective anymore, leaving us stuck or unsure of the next steps. I offer counselling in Morningside, Edinburgh and online in Scotland and the UK for a wide range of concerns, including:
Anxiety and depression
Life transitions and major changes
Loss and bereavement
Relationships
Loneliness and connection
Identity and self-esteem
Freedom, choice, finding direction
Neurodiversity and difference - navigating the world your own way
The impact of trauma and childhood adversity
I provide short-term and long-term therapy depending on your needs, offering a flexible and collaborative approach tailored to you.
As a pluralistic counsellor, I believe in working together to find the approach that best suits you. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all—every individual is unique, and our work together will reflect that. My approach is trauma-informed, identity-affirming, and culturally sensitive, ensuring that you feel heard, supported, and valued.
Here are some ways we might work together:
The stories we tell ourselves shape our self-image and how we experience the world. Sometimes, these narratives become limiting or painful, shaped by past experiences or external expectations. Drawing on narrative therapy, we can explore these stories together, identifying the ones that are no longer helpful and creating space for new perspectives. You are not the problem, the problem is the problem. Reshaping our narratives can uncover strengths and possibilities that may not have felt visible before.
At times, life’s big questions - Who am I? What really matters? Where do I go from here? - can feel daunting. Existential therapy helps create a space to explore freedom, responsibility, choice and personal meaning without judgment. This isn’t about finding a single ‘right’ answer, but about deepening self-awareness, connecting with our values, and opening up possible paths forward.
Emotions can be powerful guides, but can also feel intense, confusing, or difficult to express in words. Creative therapy and Emotion-Focussed Therapy (EFT) offer alternative ways to explore and process feelings when verbal expression feels limiting, helping us recognise emotional patterns, work through difficult feelings, and respond with greater self-compassion and clarity.
I hold an MSc in Counselling from Abertay University and am a registered member of the BACP. Alongside my private practice, I work with clients at PF Counselling in Edinburgh on a voluntary basis.
Before training as a counsellor, I studied English Literature and worked as a radio documentary producer. These experiences deeply shaped my approach to therapy. Literature gave me an appreciation for the power in personal stories, while radio allowed me to listen - really listen - to people from all walks of life. These perspectives naturally align with my counselling approach, exploring and reflecting on the stories we tell about ourselves.
I have experience working with neurodiverse clients and a particular interest in adoption-informed counselling, an area of specialist research during my training. Both connect to themes of identity - how we see ourselves, how we relate to others, and how our experiences shape our sense of self. These questions often arise in therapy, whether in the context of adoption, difference, life transitions, self-esteem or personal growth.

I know that finding the right counsellor is important, and it’s natural to want to see if we’re a good fit before committing. I offer a free 20-minute introductory online or phone session, a chance for us to talk about what’s bringing you to counselling to and see whether what I offer feels right for you.
If working together feels like a good fit, I will send you a counselling contract outlining the terms of our work together. Sessions take place online and at The Life Academy Wellbeing Centre in Edinburgh.
Sessions cost £60 for 50 minutes. I have a limited number of concessionary places available. Please contact me to chat if cost is a barrier.
I believe that therapy works best when it’s a collaborative process. Checking in regularly ensures that our sessions stay meaningful and relevant. You can find more information about good counselling practice here:
